Working from home gives us more free time – no waiting in traffic or at the local restaurant during the lunch break. But too much free time can get somewhat frustrating. That is why we have picked some suggestions for you to occupy your mind. We have chosen some favorite Swedish books and movies that are guaranteed to keep you hooked or to spark your creative mind! Some of them you may already know but with classic movies and books it is often good to give them another try and see if you will find a different perspective in them this time.

Pippi Longstocking
We all know Pippi from our childhood, we’ve all read the books but to this day, the brilliant work of Astrid Lindgren has something new to offer for every age. Pippi is a metaphor of a life, that is free of any restrains and prejudice, which always fills us with a pleasant feel of joy and freedom. Wonderful books (and a movie adaptation), suitable for some quality family time!
And for the biggest fans – there is a movie dedicated to Astrid Lindgren, telling the story of the author – “Becoming Astrid”. Find out the amazing series of the events that inspired the young author to write the all-time classics – “Pippi Longstocking”, “Emil of Lönneberga”, and “The six Bullebry Children”.

The author of the bestselling “A Man Called Ove”, “My Grandmother Asked Me to Tell You She’s Sorry” and “Brit-Marie was here” delivers once again a dose of humor and sarcasm, trademarks of his quirky style of writing, that always makes us rethink our lifestyle choices. The best part – many of his books, have been adapted into beautiful movies, suitable for any cozy time at home.
The Millennium Series (Novel Series)
For the ones, that enjoy the feel of a good thriller movie, or prefer to binge watch docu-series that dwell into the psychology behind famous crime cases, we have picked something special. Author Stieg Larson has created a trilogy of suspenseful books, full of twists and unexpected events, guaranteed to have you hooked for a long time! Author David Lagercrantz has later expanded the series with three more titles. Many of you may know that he was a special guest at the last edition of the CineLibri festival in Sofia, where he presented his latest book of the series – “The girl, who lived twice” as part of the Swedish Week.
