Joint Bulgarian – Nordic Education Event

UNIVERSITIES OF THE FUTURE & PRIVATE SECTOR COLLABORATION

Nordic countries are known for their investments in the education sector. In the past decades Nordic countries have also invested in the synergies between education and private sector actors to enable shared research and innovations relevant for private sector needs. Collaboration is conducted from large companies to small start-ups. Closer cooperation between universities and business has also helped graduates to acquire the right skills and mindsets required on the job market.

The overall objective of a Joint Bulgarian – Nordic Education Event is to offer inspiration for the Bulgarian education sector by providing a platform for a multi-stakeholder dialogue to share Nordic approach, know-how and practices on university – private sector collaboration for research and innovations as well as skill growth of graduates. Furthermore, the platform will be an opportunity to review the existing university – private sector collaboration in Bulgaria and explore the ways to take it further.

The event will bring together selected representatives of education administrations, higher education institutions (HEI) as well as Nordic and Bulgarian private sector stakeholders. The event will be organized around concrete examples, thus, providing visibility to the participating organizations’ and companies’ approaches. Possible follow-up discussions and dialogue will be facilitated on an as-needed basis.

The event will be online on the 2nd June.

The event is co-organised by Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden together with the Bulgarian Ministry of Education and the EU Commission Delegation in Sofia.
